The third Foot Pursuit 5K will be held on October 25th, 2014. This year's Foot Pursuit 5K is in memory of our dear friend and former Sierra Vista Police Department Police Officer, Jeff Dykehouse. As an accomplished professional photographer, Jeff volunteered his time to take photographs at the first two Foot Pursuit 5K events. All the wonderful photos you see on this website were taken by Jeff. Tragically, Jeff was struck and killed while riding his bicycle in July of this year. Read Jeff's story here. The 2014 Foot Pursuit 5K is sponsored by the Sierra Vista Police Officers Association. Together with Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative, Event Horizon Timing and DJ V with Urban Entertainment, this year's event will be bigger and better than ever!!
In addition to the 5K running race, we will also be offering a noncompetitive 2 mile fun run/walk for those who want to support the event but would rather run or walk a shorter distance. We will also be offering a super fun kid's race that is FREE to all participants.
We are also encouraging participants to wear their halloween costume during the event. We will be giving prizes to BEST COSTUME!!

We will again have very cool performance tech tees in men's and women's specific styles/sizes for all 5K and 2 mile participants who register by October 10th. We will try to accommodate participants who register after October 10th, but no guarantees. If you mail-in your registration, we have to receive it by October 10th. Register early!!
The 5K race course starts and finishes at the Huachuca Mountain Elementary School. A section of the 5K course follows the scenic Garden Canyon Linear Park Trail, which is not suitable for pets or strollers. As a result, pets or strollers are prohibited in the 5K race.
Christopher Youngblood holds the 5K course record with a time of 18:22!
Bora Leonard holds the women's course record with a time of 20:42!
Alex Roy (SVPD) holds the course record for LE men with a time of 20:16!
Monica George (USBP) holds the course record for LE women with a time of 27:23!
The 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk course also starts and finishes at the Huachuca Mountain Elementary School. This is a noncompetitive event.
The Kid's Fun Run will be held at the Huachuca Mountain Elementary School. This event is FREE to kids and preregistration is not necessary.

Packet pickup will be at the Sierra Vista Police Department, 911 North Coronado Drive, on Friday, October 24th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, or the morning of the race from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM.
Check-in for both the 5K Running Race and the 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk will be from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM. Both events will start promptly at 8:00 AM. The Kid's Race will start at 9:00 AM, and the awards ceremony will immediately follow the Kid's Race.
Race day parking is available across the street from the venue at the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church.
